(Patria) - The US Embassy in Belgrade has issued a warning to its citizens that large protests with hundreds of thousands of citizens will be held in Belgrade on Saturday, and that they should avoid staying in the area.
"Large protest actions are expected to begin in Belgrade on Saturday, March 15, with a total number of participants in the hundreds of thousands, and some protests will begin as early as Friday, March 14. Protests could spread to a large part of central Belgrade, especially to areas near government institutions and the headquarters of the public broadcaster RTS. According to public statements, the Serbian government has warned of possible violence. US citizens are advised to avoid the area if possible. In case you encounter crowds or violence, leave the area immediately. If you cannot leave, find a safe shelter location," they warned.
