(Patria) - The public call announced by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, related to the submission of applications for financing/co-financing of projects/requests/initiatives/other activities of importance for local self-government units in FBiH, is closing soon, specifically on May 15th.
The subject of this Public Call is the submission of applications for providing assistance in the implementation of projects for the construction and reconstruction of infrastructure and other facilities of importance for local self-government units in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and it will certainly be interesting to see who will ultimately receive the funds.
It is already being publicly discussed that municipalities and cities where the mayors are individuals from the 'Trojka', specifically NIP, SDP, and Our Party, along with the indispensable mayors from HDZ, could receive the most funds. Although it is stated that priority will be given to projects that are highly mature and are a priority for implementation in local self-government units and directly contribute to a better quality of life, special attention will be needed when analyzing the recipients.
Given that this is an election year, the projects that mayors will present will be used for promotion during the campaign.
Otherwise, the maximum financing value within this Public Call for all projects/requests/initiatives for the area of one local self-government unit amounts to up to BAM 2,000,000 (up to 4.0% of the total funds for distribution).
Exceptionally, in case of justified need, approvals for larger amounts are possible, about which the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina makes the final decision.
Municipalities and cities could apply from the following areas: road infrastructure (roads, bridges, retaining and protective walls, roundabouts, parking lots, pedestrian and bicycle paths, landslide remediation and erosion control, etc.); communal infrastructure (water supply and sewage, public lighting, energy and communication networks, gas and low-voltage networks, etc.); educational, sports, and cultural facilities (preschool facilities, school facilities, children's playgrounds and playrooms, school sports halls and playgrounds, etc.); other facilities of importance for local self-government units (cultural centers, community centers, libraries, health facilities, museums, and similar social facilities, increasing the energy efficiency of facilities, building facades, replacement of openings and roofs, heating and cooling systems, etc.); financing of other activities of importance within the competence of local self-government units.
Applications within the previously listed areas can also relate to already started projects from previous periods, with the condition that the justification of funds can only be made for costs incurred after the signing of the agreement on the allocation of funds from the budget for 2024.
The selection of project proposals and applicants, i.e., potential beneficiaries based on this Public Call, will be carried out by a Commission appointed by the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
