Academic Durakovic: Appeal for saving the state

On January 9, in Banja Luka, all masks finally fell off. Another attack on the constitutional order of BiH took place (and why would not, considering that the one in form of recent referendum was not punished after all?!). The Army was used. We saw the guns on the streets of Banja Luka. It is important to note that, the presidents of both RS's (Nikolic and Dodik) just before the armed soldiers – spoke, threatened, announced secession of RS from BiH. Threatening words from the highest ranks before the armed soldiers who are, to be entirely 'complete' – part of the armed forces from RS. Is there anyone still unclear after all of this?! This is worse than those Sarajevo barricades in the eve of Bosnian war. This couldn't be more horrifying.

Serbian president Nikolic has even used an entirely mean metaphor about a poisonous snake unstoppably sliding up to the top of the tree.

Mr. Izetbegovic, could you, after this, receive such a stubborn and numerous times proven, open enemy to your country, the one who comes to visit in order to announce its death?! Could you do that, Mr. Izetbegovic?

Interestingly, at the same time the leader of HDZ BiH is rushing to endorse every Dodik's/Dodik-like assail on BiH, while the top government of Republic Croatia, unfortunately, is rendering steady support to Covic-The Destroyer and offering unfriendly gestures towards BiH, to say the least.

It is obvious and terrifying to see how all those activities are coordinated.

BiH is in the most dangerous situation, there's no doubt about it. It is the high time for all patriotic forces in BiH to come together, to propel patriotism to the highest level possible for sake of saving BiH, while there's still time. It is necessary and rather urgent to form a pro Bosnian patriotic block in both entities, in all 3 and Other peoples, and it is necessary to act immediately, and then without stopping – 24 hours a day. Let's leave religious differences aside, the differences which are being used as the basis for ethnic conflicts and let's turn to that essentially important value called – the state, so that we can all live in it in peace, in cooperation, helping each other’s, developing economy – so that we can all get better. Because, Bosnia and Herzegovina is in the midst of various interests of other countries and forces who want to pull us into a new cataclysm.

Just look at Syria, which I know very well: There is a cataclysm over there, but only because there are foreign forces in action there, to meet their own interests, at the account of poor Syrians. Shall we allow Bosnia to become Syria?! The way SNSD and HDZ are going, this can hardly end without another Bosnian cataclysm...

A lot of good, positive action can be done. There is still hope, should patriotic forces wake up, if the intellectuals and institutions take action for saving the country, cosmopolitism, coexistence – those are the things that can ensure prosperity for everyone here.

I'm asking for forgiveness if sounding pretentious:

I appeal to all people and institutions who care for peace, for a stable country, for progress and invaluable experience about/with differences – to raise their voices and take action against cleronationalistic cannibals and trouble makers, those who are pulling us to the abyss. Let's make our final effort in that direction.

It is of utmost importance for all progressive and pro Bosnian forces IN ALL THREE CORPS to respond and get into action as we will not be able to do anything without each other. I know that there are such people, extremely positive people in all three peoples. They only need to be aware of seriousness of the situation and to act for sake of saving the country. The history is full of examples how inaccurate estimates had catastrophic consequences for nations, including world wars. Now it is time to act.

After all, one should not doubt this: one can count on the help by so called international community only when those external factors realize that we really, really care about preserving our joint state and the universal values.

The weak and those not interested should not expect help from the powerful.
