Milorad Dodik, a fake social democrat, has definitely assumed the ideology of SDS – the politics of the nineties defeated during the war as will be Dodik's thanks to the BH patriots and the world powers with the United States at the forefront.
The most recent proof of the above statement is a message by the US State Secretary Mike Pompeo for the BiH Statehood Day, who praised the country for its steps towards Euro Atlantic integration.
'The United States also strongly supports Bosnia and Herzegovina's path towards European and Euro Atlantic integration and we commend the steps you have taken to advance down that path,' said the US State Secretary adding that these efforts will help ensure the regional peace and prosperity.
The message is clear – BiH is an important player in the Western Balkans and it is high time to reveal the causes of the tragedy of this region. The war doesn't seem to be over in the Balkans, it has been protracted by some other means. That's why the time has come for the leaders who base their power on fear and hatred to leave the political scene.
Too slow progression of BiH towards NATO has been the main culprit for equally slow progress of the peace process. However, now that some progress has been made, the politics of destabilization have to be dismissed. HDZ leader Dragan Covic immediately comes to mind who, in a different manner from Dodik's, leads to destabilization by his divisive politics.
Divided BiH could not proceed down the EU and NATO path, that's why its international partners will enable a stronger progress, economic reforms, as well as the stability which will eventually mean departure of various 'dodiks and covics' to a dump of history.
Pompeo's statement also confirms that Europe has decided to reject retrograde politics; he said that the bilateral arrangement of the US and BiH doesn't only benefit the two countries but also the Transatlantic community as a whole.
In his destruction spree, Dodik hasn't spared the international community, the High representative in BiH in particular, the only interpreter of the Dayton Peace Agreement from 1995 which ended the bloodshed in the country.
During his inauguration at the Presidency before numerous foreign ambassadors, Dodik said that 'the international community should leave Bosnia and Herzegovina'. However, the 'foreigners' haven't left, they only get stronger and more committed to the peace keeping efforts in this part of the region, which will eventually make all those who had led the country to the war and who later on kept it in the state of uncertainty – to leave the political scene.
Dodik isn't as strong as he looks, especially now when even Aleksandar Vucic starts slowly to turn his back on him. Vucic was the strongest supporter of Dodik. Without his back-up, Dodik is likely to encounter defeat.
Covic is struggling to come to terms with his own defeat – from Zeljko Komsic. He's been busy looking for ways to ensure his permanent victory in the race for a seat in the presidency BiH. No wonder he's forgotten his previous boasting about being the 'promoter of the European values', so he missed the opportunity to share his enthusiasm about the document waiting to be sent to the Brussels. Deeply aware that Komsic should be credited for it, Covic has kept silent.
However, some analysts have accused Komsic of blocking the process but Pompeo responded to them in his statehood day congratulation. What has been agreed is good for Bosnia and Herzegovina and every day of waiting has paid off.
