Abuse of power live on public television: Helez admits rigging a competition and attributes it to humanity!?

"Just let me tell one story. A woman from Istočno Sarajevo called me, and she is the child of a fallen soldier of the Army of the Republika Srpska. She finished university 11 years ago, she begged through SNSD, through SDS, the family is in a very difficult crisis, they are sick, etc.

I invited her to come, and through the Civil Service Agency, I arranged for her to be employed - an employment contract. Her father died on the battlefield in Sarajevo as a member of the VRS, and my brother died as a member of the Army of the BiH. And when she started working, she sent me a message, Minister, to tell you that I lit a candle in church for my father and your late brother. That's the kind of BiH I want, that's the kind of BiH the citizens of BiH should want," said Zukan Helez, Minister of Defense of BiH, in one breath on FTV in the show Dnevnik D.

So, the minister admits to a criminal offense of rigging a competition and employment live on a public broadcaster! From his appearance on January 30th until today, there have been no reactions to this statement, which proves what kind of country we live in.

If the minister admits to having "rigged" the competition, that already enters a more serious sphere and can be considered a criminal offense.

Manipulation of competitions, employment without proper procedure, or favoring someone based on political or other interests is illegal, even if it has a humanitarian character, because it violates the principles of equality and fairness in employment in public administration.

It's not like this person is the only one in the country who finished university 11 years ago and whose family is in a difficult situation. Is Helez telling us that we should all call ministers to get employed!

Such an action has so far been considered an abuse of official position and a violation that entails legal responsibility. Depending on the legislation, it could lead to disciplinary measures, but also to more serious legal consequences if it is determined that the law has been violated.

However, in BiH, it seems we are used to this being completely normal!? Euthanized by stories of some togetherness, it is becoming normal for public officials to openly talk about their criminal offenses through TV screens, because it is evident that there are no consequences for them!

Well, no one wants such a Bosnia and Herzegovina, no matter how much Helez calls for it!
We all want to live in a country where justice is applied equally to everyone, where competitions and employment are conducted according to clearly defined rules and laws. If this becomes the norm, then it is difficult to hope for justice and equality.
