Zaimović for NAP: The Trojka is cheaply selling the country for a few positions that are transient

(Patria) - Head of the SDA Caucus in the FBiH Parliament, Mirsad Zaimović, in a statement to the Novinska agencija Patria, presented his expectations from tomorrow's session of the Federal House of Representatives, which will include on its agenda the appointment of a judge to the Constitutional Court of BiH.

- Given the behavior of the Trojka representatives recently, if you had asked me yesterday, I would have said that I am sure that tomorrow, because they have continued with the unquestioning following of the demands of HDZ BiH, they will vote for Marin Vukoja.

However, a new moment occurred today - Denis Bećirović, member of the BiH Presidency and vice-president of SDP BiH, called on federal representatives not to vote for Vukoja. Whether this will affect some of the representatives, primarily those from SDP, is now a dilemma.

Information has appeared in the media that an extraordinary session of the SDP Caucus has also been scheduled. Whether SDP and other Trojka representatives will still vote for Vukoja, despite Bećirović's warning, I am not sure at this moment. But I hope that conscience will prevail among the representatives - emphasizes Zaimović.

He notes that the SDA Caucus, in preparation for tomorrow's session, obtained the transcript from the session where Mirsad Ćeman was elected judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH, which the Trojka criticizes them for.

- The transcript clearly shows that 14 candidates applied for the position at the time, the Commission narrowed it down to five and sent these names into the parliamentary procedure. The two candidates who received the most votes went into the second round, and only then was Ćeman finally elected. So, even then, the Parliament could choose - says Zaimović.

(Patria) - Regarding the vote on the election of a judge of the BiH Constitutional Court from the BiH entity FBiH, the Chairman of the BiH Presidency Denis Bećirović stated that he has been principled and consistent, and has been emphasizing for a long time that the representatives of the House of Representatives of the Parlam

And what the Trojka is doing, according to our interlocutor, is a continuation of their completely subservient attitude towards the demands of HDZ, just to keep the existing and grab a few remaining positions.

- I think the country is being cheaply sold for a few positions that are, of course, transient - emphasizes Zaimović.

In his appeal to federal representatives, Bećirović, among other things, also stated that the election of judges of the Constitutional Court of BiH must not be a subject of political bargaining between the leaders of different parties.

- Of course, it should not and must not be. And it is clear to all of us in the FBiH Parliament that this is an HDZ candidate. I don't know if there are political illiterates there who think they are choosing the best, and not the one that HDZ has ultimately put forward to be voted for, without the possibility of choosing - says Zaimović.

He adds that he expected Bećirović to state his position on this too-serious issue earlier, even though the judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH is elected by the Federal Parliament and is not within the scope of the BiH Presidency's work.

- It is about the Constitutional Court of BiH, and at a time when serious players are playing games around the country - Dodik is there as Serbia's front player - leaving the Constitutional Court to Čović's discretion is very dangerous.

I expected Bećirović to speak out earlier. I think it is still a move that is, in a way, forced by certain political factors and the public. And finally, he has stated his position. We will see the reaction of the SDP representatives in the end.

If they vote contrary to his position, it will mean that he has no influence within SDP and that the internal situation there is worse than presented.

If they do listen to him, I think it will be one of the rare good moves by parts of the Trojka in the last year and a half of their rule - concluded Zaimović in an interview with Patria.
