Zagreb Mosque Full of Believers, Mufti Hasanović Calls for Solution to Lack of Prayer Spaces in Croatia

(Patria) - Several thousand believers from Zagreb and its surroundings gathered for the Bayram prayer at the Zagreb Mosque on Friday morning.

The sermon was delivered by Zagreb Mufti Aziz Hasanović, who said:

“Whoever fasts the month of Ramadan with faith will have all the sins they committed before forgiven. Life is not duration, but opportunity.”

Along with the importance of forgiveness and solidarity, Mufti Hasanović emphasized the importance of respecting Islamic customs for the proper life of believers in the community.

He reminded that the Islamic Community in Croatia is celebrating the 110th anniversary of its institutional existence this year. The Mufti also pointed to the efforts the Islamic Community is making to adequately address the issue of the inadequacy of prayer spaces for Muslims throughout Croatia.

He warned about the current war conflicts in the Middle East and Eastern Europe and said that the Islamic Community is always on the side of the oppressed and the weak. He called for an end to the killing of women and children and innocent people.

The arrival of an increasing number of believers every year before the Zagreb Mosque during important Muslim holidays continued this year as well.

Believers performed the Bayram prayer not only in the premises of the mosque and the Islamic Center but also on the terrace of the Islamic Center, as well as on the grassy areas around the mosque.

A large number of believers also gathered in mosques in Rijeka and Gunja, as well as in masjids in smaller towns.
