Vulin: Hitler was not a Nazi dictator, but a legally and legitimately elected representative of the majority of the German people

(Patria) - Vice President of the Government of Serbia Aleksandar Vulin yesterday at the Russian House in Belgrade, with a speech on the revision of history and its significance for Serbs and Russians, opened the introductory panel of the scientific conference on the 80th anniversary of the liberation of Belgrade.

The organizers of the gathering "Culture of Remembrance and Preservation of Historical Truth" are the Committee of the Government of Serbia for the Preservation of the Traditions of the Liberation Wars of Serbia, the Embassy of Russia, and the Russian Center for Science and Culture.

Vulin said in his speech that the revision of history began even before the end of World War II and that "Serbs and Russians, sometimes consciously and sometimes unconsciously, participated in it by allowing history to be changed before our eyes, thinking that by gentlemanly turning a blind eye to what our neighbors and compatriots, allies did during World War II, we can prevent evil from repeating."

Regarding the fact that "even today both Serbs and Russians speak of Nazi Germany," Vulin said that "this is not correct."

- Germany was not Nazi, Germany was Germany. The German state was not called 'Nazi Germany,' but was called as the Constitution and laws prescribe, and Hitler was not a Nazi dictator, but was a legally and legitimately elected representative of the vast majority of the German people - Vulin stated, the Government of Serbia announced.

He added that when speaking of "Nazi Germany, fascist Italy, a favor is done, an opportunity is offered to present the crimes committed by their grandfathers as crimes committed by others."

Vulin told those present that "you will not find Wehrmacht stamps that say 'Nazism,' and not a single decision to shoot Serbs, Russians, Jews was made in the party workshop of the National Socialist Workers' Party, but in the regular organs of the German state."

On the Eastern Front, Vulin continues, "there were seven million German soldiers, and how many were members of the Nazi party? Not even close to seven million."

- Seven million citizens of Germany, consciously and willingly, legally and legitimately, obeying the competent authorities, in accordance with the laws of their own country, went to kill as many Russians, Serbs, Jews, Roma, all those who were designated, in accordance with the ruling ideology of the German state, as subhumans to be destroyed - Vulin said.

He assesses that the revision of World War II began the moment "Soviet lives were no longer important for victory because victory was achieved, and that then preparations began for the next conflict."

- It was difficult, almost impossible, to convince generations of people born and raised during World War II that they should confront the Soviet Union. And that is why 50 years were waited for the entire war generation to disappear from the political and historical stage in order to prepare for the great revanche - Vulin said.

With the unification of Germany, he assessed, "the defeated powers in World War II, by breaking up Yugoslavia and the USSR, the victor in World War II, a great historical revanche begins."

- The descendants of the criminals of World War II are not ashamed of the crimes of their grandfathers, but of their defeat, and that is why they seek historical revanche, a new division of the world, a new drawing of maps.

That is why the revision of history, that is why you must show that Russians and Serbs are peoples of murderers, criminals, peoples who could not bring freedom to anyone because they themselves do not feel it, so that you can embark on a historical reckoning with them.

The time we live in is a time of another attempt at a historical reckoning with the Slavs, Russians in the first place, and consequently with other peoples considered natural allies of Russia - Vulin emphasized.

According to his words, "both Serbs and Russians naively and historically irresponsibly believed that they liberated someone, but they did not - neither Zagreb nor Vienna were liberated, they felt free under the Germans."

- If Ante Pavelić could have gone to elections in 1944, he would have convincingly won by an overwhelming majority of the Croatian people's votes. It will be hard for someone to convince me that the vast majority of the Croatian people did not know about the existence of Jasenovac, Jadovno, and every Serbian execution site, and even harder to convince me that they were not sincerely supportive of what was happening there.

We naively believed that we were liberating peoples who felt genuinely free under German rule, not occupation. Hence the historical misunderstanding between us and them, because we are angry at them for not being grateful for the freedom we gave them, and they say: 'You occupied us, we were free under Germany' - Vulin stated.

He assessed that "that is why today monuments to Soviet fighters are being torn down because they remind of the defeat in World War II. That is why history is being brutally changed today."

He also stated that "if Russians and Serbs were peoples who broke not their lack of freedom, but their natural sense of belonging, then any evil inflicted on Serbs and Russians is actually permitted and is a civilizational obligation."

- To embark on a great reckoning with Russia, Serbia, the Slavs, you must first dehumanize them, portray them as peoples with no human virtues and values, peoples of rapists, bandits, criminals.

Well, against such, any evil is permitted, any war, conflict, everything is permitted. And more than that, it is even necessary. At least we Serbs know that, what lies were needed to justify the bombing in 1999. That is what Russians are seeing today on their own example - Vulin said.

He noted that "even today we see that the bombing of Serbia has not ended. As long as they demand that we recognize Kosovo, the bombing of Serbia has not ended because its goal was the destruction of Serbia and its territorial dismemberment, as long as we listen to how Serbs should give up on themselves, impose sanctions on the Russian Federation."

- We know that the bombing of Serbia has not ended because such a demand can only be made to an occupied Serbia in 1944, not to a free Serbia in 2024. That is why a revision of history is necessary, that is why it is necessary to tear down monuments to liberators, to turn our peoples into peoples of murderers, rapists, villains.

That is why it is necessary to turn our democratic systems into an example of dictatorship in which all elections are fake and bought because a people that does not have the freedom to choose cannot be a people that will bring freedom to themselves and others. That is why today it is necessary to turn Serbia and Russia into countries that are not worthy of independent decision-making, but their decisions will be made, imposed, and the holders of power will only be sent to them because they do not know how to choose anyway - Vulin emphasized.

He concluded with the words that "the revision of history is not just a washing of the conscience of the peoples who participated in World War II, the revision of history is the ideological justification of the evil that will be inflicted and is being inflicted on the Russian and Serbian peoples."
