Vučić laments from New York: I ended my career here tonight, many things won't be forgiven

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated tonight after the UN General Assembly session, where the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica was adopted, that he "ended his career and that many things won't be forgiven him".

- I ended my career here tonight. Many things won't be forgiven me, this was the nail in the coffin. I did everything, they did everything to humiliate us, and we soared to the heights.

I cannot say that we won because of the procedures, but everyone understands what the result is - Vučić told reporters in New York.

He points out that the alleged estimates of those who proposed the Resolution were that more than 110 countries would vote for it, and around 45 would abstain.

- And there were 107 of us (those who voted against and those who abstained). So it's 84 against 107 of those who did not wish to agree with their proposal, not to mention how they reached those 84, because realistically, 60-something would have voted for the Resolution, the rest were pressured - claims the Serbian president.

Vučić thanked all the countries that voted against and abstained during the vote.

- A huge thank you to our Hungarian brothers, they are the only ones who were against in our region, but thanks also to Slovakia, Greece, and Cyprus, who abstained and showed friendship towards Serbia.

There are at least three countries that were forced to be co-sponsors, and in the end, they abstained. It's incredible what pressure there was and what they did. This is the first time it has happened that it wasn't unanimous - adds Vučić.

He also states that he will talk with Bosniaks in Serbia in the coming period.

- We have one country and we must fight for the future together - Vučić said.
