Vučić: Adoption of the Srebrenica Genocide Resolution will open an unprecedented Pandora's box

(Patria) - In his first address after returning from New York, Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that the country he leads recognizes BiH as an internationally recognized state, its territorial integrity, and the territorial integrity of Republika Srpska within BiH.

Vučić stated that Serbia seeks respect for the Dayton Peace Agreement, and "the submission of the Srebrenica Resolution is a brutal violation of that agreement".

He points out that Serbia learned from its German partners a month ago that they had been preparing a draft resolution on Srebrenica for eight months.

According to him, several countries "changed their stance and will not vote for the Srebrenica Resolution", while "hundreds of countries have expressed respect for Serbia".

Vučić assesses that there are "not many free countries in the world like Serbia".

Speaking about Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe and the adoption of the Srebrenica Resolution in the UN General Assembly, he said that some of the most powerful European powers want to "deliver a final political blow" to Serbia.

- We realized that Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe membership means lawsuits against Serbia, against Serbian citizens, lawsuits for war reparations.

We also realized from the highest representatives of the Sarajevo regime that all of this has one goal, and that is a lawsuit for damages, war reparations, and a new revision of the already existing judgment of the International Criminal Court in The Hague - stated Vučić.

He reminded that the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of BiH, Elmedin Konaković, spoke about this, and that these are not his words.

He assures that Serbia will resist with all its might, adding that he is proud of the results of the campaign against Kosovo's admission to the Council of Europe and the Srebrenica Resolution.

- I expect this to be adopted in the week between May 11 and 16 - said Vučić, adding that the adoption of the Srebrenica Genocide Resolution will "open an unprecedented Pandora's box".

- There will be no end to proposals for resolutions on committed genocides, because we have judgments after World War II for the most serious criminal acts of genocide committed against the Serbian people in Jasenovac and other Serbian execution sites. Then we will raise these issues. Then the Russians will raise them, and many others.

We will not rush our decisions, but within a month after the conclusion of these procedures - and this is not a threat, the world will accept it with enthusiasm - we will defeat two NATO candidates - Lithuania and Montenegro - in terms of votes. We will run for a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council - said Vučić, adding that Serbia faces a great struggle and match that it will not be able to win.
