Vučić at the UN: Kosovo is an inseparable part of Serbia, a false campaign has been waged against us and RS for 30 years

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated this evening at a session of the UN General Assembly in New York that "Kosovo is an inseparable part of Serbia", and that a "false campaign" has been waged against Serbia and the BiH entity RS.

In his address, during which he also spoke about the situation in BiH and RS, anti-government protests in Serbia, the conflict in the Gaza Strip, and the murdered American conservative activist Charlie Kirk, Vučić said that Kosovo is "the main pillar of Serbia's identity, culture, and spiritual heritage".

- For us Serbs, it is not just a piece of land, but the cradle of our spirituality and our existence on that land - said Vučić.

He asserted that Serbs in Kosovo live in "dramatic conditions".

- They are denied basic human rights - the right to life, the right to movement, education, and medical care. They are denied access to employment and property - claims Vučić.

He called on the international community to "take concrete and decisive steps to stop the violence in Kosovo". He also said that "Serbia believes in dialogue under the auspices of the EU".

Vučić emphasized that the stability of the region is "of utmost importance for Serbia" and that Serbia, "as a guarantor of the Dayton Agreement", signed thirty years ago, "will always work towards its full implementation and respect for the rights of all three constituent peoples in Bosnia and Herzegovina".

- Unilateral actions and abuse of authority contrary to the agreement do not contribute to peace and they bring new tensions - emphasizes Vučić.

He adds that Serbia will "use all diplomatic means" to prevent "unilateral actions in Bosnia and Herzegovina". He also stated that "for thirty years now, a false campaign has been waged against Serbia and Republika Srpska at the United Nations and elsewhere".

- Everywhere in the world, you could hear countless times, as they would say 'from well-informed sources', that it is only a matter of days when Serbia will attack someone in the region, and that Republika Srpska and its leadership will violate the territorial integrity of BiH - said Vučić, adding that this "has been a lie all this time".

He also used his address at the UN to comment on the months-long anti-government protests in Serbia, which are demanding early parliamentary elections, which the authorities are refusing.

- Despite the violence shown by the demonstrators, we tried to find a significant part of the blame within ourselves and among us who lead the country. I wanted to listen and understand the message of the people on the street, and therefore, as here, I offer dialogue, because there is no alternative - says Vučić.

He also emphasizes that he "offers dialogue and unconditional discussion on all important topics for our society to those who think differently".

- And I am absolutely sure that in the coming period, we will overcome all the difficulties of the past months - added Vučić.
