Vučić claims: Serbia no longer exports any ammunition, USA violated international law

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that Serbia is currently not exporting any ammunition.

"We have stopped everything now. Special decisions must be made if anything is to go. Ammunition goes to our barracks and our reserves," said Vučić at a session of the extended collegium of the Chief of the General Staff.

Responding to a question from N1, he said that one thing was what was exported after October 7, 2023, and the Hamas attack on Israel, while today the situation is different.

"We have literally stopped everything and are sending it to our army," said Vučić, emphasizing that Serbia has never exported weapons, only ammunition.

He stressed that 24,000 people in Serbia live directly from this export, and around 150,000 indirectly.

"I will not leave 150,000 people without bread. My job was to open markets for them. I opened almost all Asian markets for them, the American market. 'Prvi partizan' exports top-quality ammunition to the USA, and they use it because it is top-quality ammunition," said the president after the meeting of the extended collegium of the General Staff.

Opposition representatives in Serbia have raised concerns after Iran stated that all those supplying weapons to Israel become legitimate targets.

The export of ammunition was also contentious for Russia, which accused the Serbian military industry of trying to "shoot Russia in the back" by exporting ammunition to Ukraine.

Shortly after, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova stated that she believes Serbia is fully aware of the risks associated with selling military equipment to Ukraine.

Vučić emphasized that Serbia wants peace in the Middle East because both Israel and Iran are friendly countries, noting that "until yesterday's smaller gathering of blockers, there was not a single anti-Semitic message in Serbia."

"We want peace and I do not understand why things were not resolved through diplomacy," Vučić stated.

Speaking about the US attacks on Iranian nuclear facilities, Vučić said there is no doubt that the USA violated international public law.

"What remains for a small country but to talk about respect for international law and the UN Charter?" asked Vučić.

According to him, this will have three consequences – there is no law or justice, but more importantly, there are no rules in today's world.

"Second, how will the West now talk to the Russians or anyone else about violating territorial integrity? We are sinking into complete chaos, the whole world. Oil is 25 percent more expensive today than ten days ago, gas has gone through the roof, but the worst part is that now everyone has the right to attack anyone," warned Vučić.
