Vučić: Students are repeat offenders and criminals, and Milica is a 'child who was just running away'

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić compared the pardons of students in blockade and the girl who hit a student, stating that the students are "repeat offenders and criminals", and that the girl who hit student Kristina with a car was "running away as best she could".

Speaking about the students in blockade, Vučić stated that "the state must take care of those in blockade and their families, and that is why he pardoned some of them".

"We behaved responsibly. We must, as a state, take care of everyone, both those in blockade and their families. No matter how much foolishness and illegal actions they commit, in accordance with the law, norms, and everything according to the law, we must still take care of them. And that is why I pardoned a large number of them and released them from further criminal prosecution," he said.

"Some of them are thugs, some are criminals, some are even criminals of such a type that I regret making such a mistake or taking such a step," he stated.

Speaking about the 25-year-old against whom an indictment for attempted murder was filed, he said that the attempted murder was fabricated and that she was "just running away".

"You have brought one girl to this point. I told Suzana Paunović to prepare for me to go to the commission, to see about a pardon, to get all expert opinions. I will not say the girl's name. I know her name, her mother's name. The mother almost cried when she heard that her child would be free. The child entered hell, wanted to kill herself due to guilt that was not provoked by anything. Imagine if these were your children," said Vučić.

He said that she was moving her head away as best she could.

"Rather, someone makes such a decision out of fear for their own skin. I am here to protect the people, and from such reckless people who only protect themselves. And I don't care what anyone says to me. And I don't care how many lies they publish about me. And I don't care how many times they come in front of the Presidency to this or that place," he stated.

Let us remind you, the 25-year-old Milica, whom Vučić pardoned, hit student Kristina Vasiljević on Jurija Gagarina Street in New Belgrade by driving her vehicle into a crowd of citizens. She hit the stewards at the beginning of the column with a "Citroen" vehicle, and then continued on, hitting several more. The woman driving the car threw several stewards aside, while she carried the injured girl on the hood beforehand. Student Kristina suffered serious bodily injuries at the time.
