Vučić traveling to New York: Will the vote on the Srebrenica Resolution be postponed?

(Patria) - The United Nations Security Council will hold its regular semi-annual session on the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina tomorrow, which will, among other things, discuss the proposed resolution on Srebrenica.

Also, information coming from New York initially indicated that the vote on the mentioned resolution would take place the following day, Thursday, May 16, in the United Nations General Assembly, but there is increasing speculation that the vote could be postponed again.

However, this is still unofficial information, which could not be confirmed by sources within domestic institutions in a conversation with "Nezavisne novine".

"We do not have official information, but we have heard that the vote could be on May 22," a source from Sarajevo told "Nezavisne novine".

If the vote on the Srebrenica resolution in the UN General Assembly is indeed postponed, it would be the second time, as the previous vote was scheduled for May 2.

At that time, it was stated that the text of the Srebrenica resolution itself, sponsored by Germany and Uganda, with the support of other countries, was controversial, and that new negotiations were underway regarding its draft.

It should also be noted that on the eve of the UN Security Council session, the Government of Republika Srpska submitted its 31st report to that institution, including appendices, among which are the conclusions of the International Commission for Research of Suffering of All Peoples in the Srebrenica Region in the period 1992-1995, which claims that genocide did not occur.

Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will also travel to New York. He announced that due to the UN Security Council session, he will not be able to attend the Western Balkans leaders' summit to be held in Kotor.
