(Patria) - In response to the opposition's demand for Serbian Prime Minister Miloš Vučević to resign due to the collapse of the canopy at the Novi Sad railway station, which killed 14 people, the President of Serbia last night proposed a referendum on his dismissal.
- I offer you a solution, I offer you a great victory. So that you don't tell me what majority is needed in the Assembly for everything, we will give you 126 votes for a majority.
We will go out to ask the people, for the National Assembly to ask the people for an advisory opinion in a referendum on the dismissal of Aleksandar Vučić.
I have just checked with Dejan Đurđević if they agree with the procedure for my dismissal. If 50 percent of the people say they agree, I will not be president for another day.
I publicly pledge that I will no longer be president and we will go to new presidential elections - said Vučić.
He also added that elections could be held in January, March, or May - "choose when you want".
