(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated today that the removal of tents and fences set up in front of the National Assembly will begin tomorrow evening, and that a Christmas village will be set up at that location for two to four days, while the street will be opened for traffic from January 2 or 3.
After laying the cornerstone for the construction of the new building of the Ministry of Defence and the General Staff, he said that tomorrow he will visit the people who were there and thank them because, as he said, with their tactical move they defended the state.
"I asked the people, I think those people defended the state, preserved their country and they deserve enormous gratitude and will go down in history as one of the tactical moves that contributed to the breaking of the colour revolution. I spoke with them and they informed me that tomorrow evening, as a sign of attention, goodwill and gratitude towards me, they will begin removing the tents in front of the National Assembly," Vučić said.
He said that only a small part of Pioneers' Park will remain where they will stay for some more time, but that the part in front of the National Assembly will be completely opened for traffic.
As he said, he will tell the people who stayed there that "in history textbooks and readers it will be recorded how, with their heroism, dedication and courage, without complaint, they endured all pressures and preserved the homeland," Tanjug reports.
"Do not forget the sacrifice of Milan Boigdanović, who took a bullet for the homeland from villains who could not stand that someone thinks differently, and I will try, together with him, to greet all other people who fought and who preserved the country. Tomorrow this will be removed, and after that important communication will be reopened because the state has been defended and the state of Serbia has won," Vučić concluded.
