Vučić pardons girl who hit a student with a car at a protest in Belgrade

(Patria) - Milica Stojanović, who hit a student with a car at a protest in Belgrade in January and seriously injured her, has been pardoned by the decision of the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić.

Vučić announced this decision last month, and it was the last in a series of good news for Stojanović - first, her criminal charge was reduced, and then she was released from custody.

- She deserved none of this (the trial), and it is terrible for me as president, who until a few weeks ago had not issued a single pardon in nine years, to now have to correct the injustice caused by prosecutors and courts - Vučić said in mid-last month, commenting on the proceedings against Milica Stojanović, accused of hitting a student with her car at a protest in Belgrade.

Vučić kept his promise - he made the decision to pardon Stojanović, after which the court dismissed the indictment against her on August 1st, Serbian media reported.
