Vučić scares the public: We have 257,000 shelter spaces, we need one to 1.5 million

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić addressed the public today at a press conference.

Speaking about the thousandth day of the conflict in Ukraine, Vučić reminded that Serbia, five or six days after the outbreak of the war, came out with its conclusions, noting that he is "proud that we have not changed our stance despite all the challenges and pressures".

- As a small country, you know I have always said we should hide under a rock until the trouble passes, but I am not ashamed to say that I believe negotiations for a ceasefire, for peace, should begin as soon as possible, because further conflict leads us to global catastrophe - said Vučić.

He assesses that we have "passed nine out of ten steps towards complete catastrophe".

- I expect that the use of ATACMS missiles on the Bryansk region in Russia will likely cause further actions against energy facilities and bridges on the Dnieper.

If Moscow were threatened, I know Russian President Vladimir Putin well enough to say that he would not hesitate to use nuclear weapons - stated Vučić.

He emphasizes that Serbia is "completely unprepared for such a conflict in terms of shelters, having space for only 257,000 people, and that work will have to be done on adapting spaces to reach a capacity of one to 1.5 million people."

- We must fill all reserves, not because I expect to be a target, but if anyone within a radius of 500 to a thousand kilometers is - we are doomed too - added Vučić.
