(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated on Monday that the country has entered an election year and it is only a matter of time whether presidential elections will be held alongside parliamentary ones.
Vučić said that parliamentary elections will be held within a year at the latest, and that competent institutions will decide whether presidential elections will be held simultaneously.
"We have officially entered an election year today, and there is no doubt that we will have elections within a year at the latest," Vučić told the media in the village of Tolić near Mionica, reports Tanjug.
The Serbian president added that preparations for the elections are underway, to see who will participate in the elections, how many lists and in what way, and who the candidates are.
"And to see if it will be only parliamentary elections or if parliamentary and presidential elections will be held together. But competent institutions will make a decision on that," he added.
Extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia were held in 2023.
