Vučić: We will not send a protest note to Montenegro, North Macedonia's vote hurt me

(Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić stated that Serbia will not send a protest note to Montenegro, although it voted for the adoption of the resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly.

He added that the Montenegrins at the UN did not disappoint him, because, as he said, he expected that from them.

- They have disappointed a large part of their own people as well. I told Spajić that they don't have to fool me, that I know they will vote for it. I know they don't decide independently and there's no philosophy behind it. They can say whatever they want, send protest notes, we will not send them a protest note even because they voted that we are a genocidal nation - emphasized the president.

He assessed for TV Prva that Montenegro would never vote for the adoption of a potential resolution on the genocide in Jasenovac.

- Montenegro said in 2006 - we want to be on our own, not with you, we won't say you're scabby, but we're better off without you. They left and already in 2008 they recognized independent Kosovo. Did anyone hold a memorial service for those who recognized Kosovo, while they held it for us five hundred times, whenever Serbia was lectured. If there was a vote for Kosovo to join the Council of Europe, they would vote for it. Montenegro will never pass a law or resolution or anything similar on the genocide in Jasenovac. Even though they announced it themselves. And they did that thinking they would buy two days regarding Srebrenica, so that everyone would forget about it. But I say, they will not be for that resolution, I will publicly apologize if that is not the case - said Vučić.

He emphasized that North Macedonia's vote hurt him more than Montenegro's vote.

- There are always countless excuses... It hurts me because I invested the most in relations with our Macedonian brothers. But, it wasn't fair. It turned out that Greece has more backbone than North Macedonia - said Vučić.
