Vučić will not come to Montenegro on July 12 after all

(Patria) - President of the Democratic People's Party (DNP) Milan Knežević hinted in Facebook comments that Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić will not come to Berane for the Petrovdan gathering on July 12, as previously announced.

According to Knežević, Vučić will visit Montenegro at the end of the month.

"The fact that the President of Serbia will not come to Montenegro on July 12 is not important at all, compared to how important it is that AV, in addition to all other blames, is today blamed for the sea being cold and for my mother having more oil reserves than the commodity reserves directorate, which we no longer have. And he will be blamed for not coming on July 12, just as he will be blamed when he comes at the end of July," Knežević stated on Facebook.

Vučić, he says, will come when those who invited him expect him.

"And who is to blame? It is known, the one who will not come when those who do not want him to come expect him, but will come when those who invited him expect him," asserted the DNP leader.

Let us recall, the President of the Montenegrin Parliament Andrija Mandić, at the end of the parliamentary session where the resolution on the genocide in Jasenovac was voted on, said that he would like representatives of the state leadership of Serbia and RS to come to Montenegro on Petrovdan, and he repeated the same invitation a day later, stating that they would send a message of unity by doing so.

Knežević invited Vučić to come to Berane in July and visit the Temple of Saint Simeon Mirotočivi.

On the same day, June 30, Vučić announced that he accepted Knežević's and Mandić's invitation.

Vučić pointed out at the time that he had many obligations in July, and that the best time for the visit would be Petrovdan.

"Perhaps Petrovdan would be best, but I am not sure who of the guests will be here in Belgrade on that day, but during July I am ready to visit Berane and Vasojevići with the greatest joy and talk to the people," said Vučić during his guest appearance on TV Prva.

In the Podgorica High Court, the pronouncement of the repeated verdict in the case called the state coup is scheduled for July 12, and among the accused for participating in the attempted terrorism on the day of the parliamentary elections in Montenegro in 2016 are Andrija Mandić and Milan Knežević.

The precise reason why Vučić postponed his visit to Montenegro is not known. After the President of the European Council Charles Michel canceled his visit to Montenegro, a praiseworthy paragraph referring to Montenegro was removed from the draft declaration of the Council of Europe.

European warnings arrived after the adoption of the resolution on Jasenovac, as well as the announcement of the Petrovdan gathering, which would effectively represent a pan-Serbian assembly two, a continuation of the infamous event of June 8, with even more infamous and dangerous messages.

It is likely that Vučić, after the sharp messages from the EU and official Zagreb, which clearly identified him as an instrumentalizer of the Montenegrin government and parliamentary majority working to achieve his interests, assessed that formalizing the Montenegrin territory and a new reckoning should be temporarily postponed, perhaps until the formal entry of the ZBCG coalition into the Government, a swift reconstruction that is increasingly certain and possible as early as the end of July.
