SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said that KFOR rejected Serbia's request to return the army to Kosovo and Metohija.
"I don't think many people are asking about the answer, it seems to me that we all knew and expected that answer. In their carefully drafted letter addressed to the Government of Serbia, and then I also received it for review through the military cabinet, they responded that there is no need for the Serbian army and armed forces to return to the territory of Kosovo and Metohija, referring to Resolution 1244 where they emphasize their role, but they did not refer to the part of the Resolution where this is allowed," Vučić said on Pink television.
He added that the letter was delivered on Christmas Eve. Vučić believes that a positive answer on that day would have been appropriate, and that it is inappropriate to send a negative answer on such a holiday.
Speaking about the two wounded boys in Kosovo, Vučić said that the global campaign supporting Kurti is shameful.
"It's as if a child was shot by accident," said Vučić, adding that no officials sent him a message expressing horror at the attack on children, but he received 11 messages from ambassadors because of Rada Trajković, when she sat at the administrative crossing for two hours.
"And the shooting of Serbian boys did not bother them. This speaks volumes about all of them, and about their attitude towards the Serbian people. I did not expect a different answer from KFOR. And the question is whether to go to the UN Security Council session. In our country, there are two groups exerting pressure regarding Kosovo and Metohija. One group consists of so-called patriots who only create problems for their country. They will request a UN Security Council session. Let's go tomorrow, okay, the Russians will support us. And what then? They will vote that the Serbian army and police do not return. What will we do after that session, leave it to Kurti to comment that the UN Security Council also rejected it," said Vučić.
"What will we do if we go to the UN Security Council session, what will we get if they vote there that our army cannot return? To leave the possibility for Kurti to use it for himself," he said.
