(Patria) - BiH Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandar Vranješ stated today that he "neither brought nor delivered a protest note to Serbia regarding the 'All-Serbian Assembly'".
After talks with Serbian Foreign Minister Marko Đurić, Vranješ said he "wanted to explain to journalists an unsuccessful attempt by the BiH Foreign Minister Elmedin Konaković to deliver a protest note".
Let us recall, Konaković previously stated that a protest note was sent to Montenegro because the President of the Montenegrin Assembly Andrija Mandić said that the All-Serbian Assembly was a "gathering of two countries", and announced that such a note would also be sent to Serbia.
- I neither brought nor delivered that note to Serbia. They tried to do it through me, but the reason I didn't is not solely related to my political views, but for procedural reasons.
The BiH Foreign Minister does not have the right to create foreign policy actions or BiH's foreign policy. That is within the jurisdiction of the BiH Presidency - Vranješ said.
He also added that he "wanted to explain to Minister Đurić how this was Konaković's attempt at a performance".
- You are surely aware that Konaković is currently facing a lot of criticism in the BiH public due to accusations of collaborating with a drug cartel, and there are ongoing investigations, so he is looking for a way to divert the BiH public's attention from these serious accusations hanging over him, in order to gain, in quotation marks, positive points, and in Sarajevo, that always means attacking Serbia - Vranješ said.
He also stated that "BiH has no position on the 'All-Serbian Assembly' because BiH's position is formulated when the three members of the Presidency make a decision".
