Drove 25 kilometers against traffic on Croatian highway, caused two accidents, then fled police

(Patria) - Karlovac police conducted a criminal investigation into a 33-year-old Serbian citizen for reckless driving.

Police point out that they have established a well-founded suspicion that the aforementioned Serbian woman seriously violated traffic regulations on the evening of August 21.

First, while traveling on the A1 highway towards Zagreb, she made a U-turn at the Demerje toll station and continued driving in the prohibited direction towards Karlovac for the next 25 kilometers.

In doing so, she caused two traffic accidents with material damage and endangered the lives and bodies of several people, specifically five drivers and nine passengers.

She caused the first accident in her vehicle with Serbian license plates in the Zagreb area around 11:05 PM, when she damaged one vehicle.

Ignoring the police's light and sound commands to stop, she continued driving.

In the Draganić area around 11:30 PM, she damaged two more cars, then got out of her car and fled the scene of the accident in an unknown direction.

Two additional vehicles ran over discarded parts of previously damaged vehicles in Draganić because they could not avoid them.

The suspected 33-year-old woman was later found and arrested.

Due to suspicion of committing the criminal offense of reckless driving in road traffic, she was handed over to the detention supervisor of the Karlovac Police Department.
