(Patria) - The Serbian Government today adopted the "Declaration on the Protection of National and Political Rights and the Common Future of the Serbian People," which was proclaimed on June 8 at the "All-Serbian Assembly" in Belgrade.
The Government announced that the document will be forwarded to the Serbian Parliament, and Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabić has called a session for July 23, with the adoption of the Declaration on the agenda.
The Declaration was also adopted by the National Assembly of the Republic of Srpska on July 2.
As Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić previously stated, the document invokes the Dayton Agreement and contains no mention of separation in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The 49-point document states, among other things, that the Serbian people constitute a single entity.
It also emphasizes that the Assembly does not support the Resolution on the Genocide in Srebrenica, which was passed at the United Nations in late May.
The text also states that the Assembly considers the appointment of the High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina, contrary to Annex X of the Dayton Peace Agreement, to be "inappropriate."
It further notes that the Dayton Peace Agreement has been "permanently and substantially undermined," and calls on all international actors to return to its observance.
It notes that the Republika Srpska is satisfied with the high degree of autonomy defined by the Dayton Peace Agreement, and therefore insists on the implementation of that agreement.
The Declaration also states that the Serbian people, Serbia, and the Republika Srpska should preserve historical friendships with "proven friends," but also build new alliances.
Among other things, it states that Sretenje, February 15, is the Statehood Day of Serbia and the Statehood Day of the Republika Srpska, which should be celebrated jointly and unitedly.
Harmonization of curricula in education in Serbia and the Republika Srpska is recommended.
