Government dismisses entire management of Hrvatske šume

(Patria) - In a closed session, the Croatian Government today dismissed the entire management of Hrvatske šume, contrary to reports and announcements that only the President of the Management Board, Nediljko Dujić, would be dismissed.

The decision to dismiss the Management Board will take effect after the new Croatian Minister of Agriculture is appointed to office, i.e., after he is appointed as a member of the Assembly of Hrvatske šume.

After that, the Government will make a decision on a new acting president of the Management Board, and he will be a non-partisan person.

The president of the Homeland Movement, Ivan Penava, reiterated his party's stance on the leadership of Hrvatske šume today.

- We agreed in the agriculture sector, managed by a minister from the Homeland Movement, that someone from the DP's quota would take the leading position in Hrvatske šume, not necessarily a member, in accordance with the latest agreements, and it is not about a member, and this is based on the DP's decision, not through some imposition, Penava said.

The dismissal of Dujić was requested by the former Minister of Agriculture, Josip Dabro, conditioning his vote of support for the new Minister of Agriculture, David Vlajčić, during the vote in the Parliament.

The dismissal of the entire management of Hrvatske šume, it is learned from the Government, was proposed due to numerous disputes in the public sphere regarding the work of this state-owned company.

When selecting the new Management Board, the Government adds, emphasis will be placed on expertise and competence, and in talks with partners from the Homeland Movement, it was agreed that they would propose a non-partisan person for the president of the Management Board.
