(Patria) - Danilo Kalezić, a political scientist, is a new guest on Patria's podcast with Neven Kovačević.
Kalezić clearly states that 'unfortunately, Montenegro and the Montenegrin option are on the path to losing the cultural war that Serbian services and para-services have been waging on a cultural level for the past 10-15 years'.
Kalezić spoke about the chronic problems on the political scene.
„They are trying to render all Montenegrin cultural and national institutions meaningless, while serving a completely different cultural model through entertainment programs and cinematography, and it is no wonder that most young people today are uninterested in state affairs“, emphasized Kalezić.
He commented on the opposition in Montenegro, especially in the context of the lack of unity within the opposition.
„When we talk about the opposition, it is normal and necessary for them to actively participate in political processes. It is necessary to criticize the opposition as well. Within that opposition, criticism should be directed towards the biggest players, because there is no point in criticizing the smallest ones. Criticism should be directed at the top. It is obvious that in the last 4-5 years, their engagement in politics has not been functioning, or rather, it has not been producing results.
I am not a proponent of unity in the sense of consolidation; it is not a necessary condition for them to reach voters and to replace the government that is not Montenegrin. It is anti-state, and their actions harm and endanger this country“, stated Kalezić.
Specifically, Kalezić asserts that DPS suffers from the ailment of still conducting politics from a position of power.
„What they communicate to the public has the so-called element of power at its core. I called it the ruling opposition. Although they are essentially the opposition, and their cadres have undergone persecution, they still act as if they are in power. Then we come to the problem, because we are at the stage of diagnosing the situation in Montenegro, in order to move forward“, added Kalezić and explained:
„So, if you perceive Andrija Mandić, the Democratic Front, and even PES as legitimate and legal representatives of the government, or as a legal and legitimate government, then that implies a certain type of political strategy. But if you know that this structure was imported into Montenegro and is commanded through the Serbian Church and the Serbian intelligence service, then that requires a different level of strategy, because you are not dealing with a legitimate and legal government or parties of that profile“, said Kalezić.
