VIDEO Thousands of students, pupils, motorcyclists, and citizens blockading bridges in Novi Sad

(Patria) - The blockade of Varadin Bridge, Freedom Bridge, and Žeželj Bridge in Novi Sad will begin at 3:00 PM, marking three months since the death of 15 people in the collapse of the canopy at the Railway Station. Freedom Bridge will be blocked for 24 hours, while the other two will be blocked for three hours.

On Friday evening, thousands of students from Belgrade arrived in Novi Sad, having walked the 80-kilometer journey to pay tribute to the victims.

Today, numerous students, professors, and citizens from surrounding towns also came to Novi Sad, and hundreds of motorcyclists arrived for the bridge blockade.

They will spread out across the three bridges with banners, and then gather for the 24-hour blockade of Freedom Bridge.

Gatherings were also held in several other cities in Serbia.

Several hundred citizens gathered today in Vienna, in front of the Serbian Embassy, sending support to students in Serbia, their protests, and demands, reported a FoNet correspondent.

The participants observed 15 minutes of silence to honor the victims and expressed support for the students and their demands.

Among those gathered were mostly students and families with children.

They carried banners reading “Vienna is with the students,” “You would destroy Vienna if you could,” “Students until the end,” “The government is falling,” “SNS must break, I want to go home,” “We are with you, aunt and uncle from Vienna”…

Those gathered carried Serbian flags.

The police formed a cordon in front of the entrance to the Serbian embassy and closed the street where the diplomatic mission is located to traffic.
