(VIDEO) Drone show in Budva turns into a fiasco, drones fall into the sea and onto the plateau

(Patria) - Announced as an unprecedented spectacle in this region, the New Year's "drone show" which was supposed to be performed at midnight above the Old Town in Budva, ended unsuccessfully, reports Anadolu.

During the performance, dozens of drones fell into the sea and onto the plateau in front of the Port Authority, and footage of this incident quickly spread on social media.

The Budva police confirmed to "Vijesti" that an investigation was conducted during the night and that the Basic State Prosecutor's Office in Kotor was informed about the case. They stated that there were no injuries in the incident.

The cause of the malfunction and collapse of the expensive drone show, whose value is estimated at tens of thousands of euros, will be determined after an expert examination ordered by the prosecutor's office.

The Tourist Organization of Budva and the Municipality of Budva did not respond to media inquiries about the reasons for the event's failure.

The drone show was planned as the central part of the New Year's program, preceded by a traditional fireworks display.
