Veterans of Sloboda and Trogir veterans are the best at the seventh International Handball Tournament in Goražde

(Patria) - The seventh International Handball Tournament for veterans and female veterans in Goražde this weekend gathered 12 teams in the men's and women's categories who arrived in the city on the Drina from several countries in the region – Serbia, Croatia, North Macedonia, and BiH.

The tournament participants enjoyed a full day of rafting on the Drina yesterday, while today they showed their handball skills at the tournament, which was preceded by a beach handball match of the youngest handball players from MRK Goražde. A foam party was also organized for the participants and numerous citizens at Žanje.

For the first time, veterans of the North Macedonian national handball team are participating in the tournament, arriving with their "strongest" lineup.

- We are pleased with the invitation, we are truly enjoying these two days, playing this way for the first time, a new and different experience for us. What we have seen so far is enough, and we can freely say that next year we will come in larger numbers to enjoy - said Dalibor Lukić, a member of the North Macedonian national handball team.

Veterans from Trogir are regular participants of the tournament in Goražde, and they say they always gladly return.

- We have been here since the first tournament, for a full seven years. Coming here is our priority compared to all other invitations we receive. It is truly perfect here, the people, the city, we cannot give this up, congratulations to you all. Everyone normally likes to win, but sometimes a good gathering is enough, and it is phenomenal here - said veteran Mira Milić.

Veterans BASK from Belgrade are in Goražde for the first time and particularly enjoyed the freshness and beauty of the Drina River after the hot Belgrade asphalt.

- To say we are delighted is an understatement, with the hospitality, organization, and the entire event. Congratulations to the guys from the Drina, this is a fantastic experience - said Vladan Petrulović from Belgrade.

In the women's competition, the most successful at the tournament were the veterans from Trogir, the second place was won by the female veterans from Goražde, while the third place went to the handball veterans from Pančevo.

The best in the men's competition were the handball players from Sloboda Tuzla, the second place was won by the veterans from Sarajevo, while the third-placed team was from North Macedonia.
