Early Parliamentary Elections in Kosovo on December 28

(Patria) - The Central Election Commission of Kosovo has confirmed the voter registry for the early parliamentary elections in Kosovo on December 28, officially determining the number of eligible voters.

According to the data from the certified registry, a total of 2,076,290 citizens have the right to vote in this electoral process, Kossev.info reports.

At polling stations in Kosovo, 1,999,205 voters are eligible to vote, while a total of 77,085 voters are registered to vote from abroad.

Compared to the local elections held on October 12, the voter registry has increased by 7,192 voters.

The electoral process will be organized in 948 polling centers, with a total of 2,614 polling stations. Of this number, 910 centers with 2,557 polling stations will be designated for regular voting, while 57 polling stations for conditional voting will be distributed across 38 centers, one in each municipality.

We remind you that after the regular parliamentary elections held on February 9, the Parliament of Kosovo failed to elect a new government. After several attempts at agreement and the appointment of a prime minister and cabinet, political forces did not achieve the necessary majority in the Assembly, which led to a political deadlock.

Due to this deadlock, the President of Kosovo, Vjosa Osmani, dissolved the Parliament and called for early elections on December 28 of this year, in an attempt to overcome the crisis and enable the formation of a new government.
