(Patria) - A state of emergency has been declared for part of the Svrljig municipality area due to heavy rainfall, the Serbian Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.
As a result of the Pravačka river overflowing, 40 households in Svrljig are under water, and a state of emergency has also been declared in the settlements of Niševac and Merdželat.
As stated in the announcement, one person has been evacuated, as well as small livestock.
Seven firefighters-rescuers with five vehicles and two pumps are surveying the area, monitoring the water levels and pumping water as needed.
