(Patria) - Zagreb police have commented on the fire in the Vjesnik building, stating that an investigation was launched immediately after the report and that the scene is being secured while key information is being collected. They emphasize that the early investigative period is sensitive and that public disclosure of details could hinder police work and alert those being investigated.
It has been confirmed that several young people are involved, and one has been arrested and is undergoing criminal investigation. The public will be informed in more detail when circumstances permit, they say.
According to unofficial information, a minor reported to the police and stated that a group of teenagers tried to enter the skyscraper's roof. On the higher floors, they encountered locked doors, and one young man allegedly set fire to cardboard boxes, after which the fire spread quickly. The group then fled. These are teenagers aged 16 and 17 who live near the Vjesnik building.
