Krunoslav Fehir Arrested: Key Witness in Branimir Glavaš Case

(Patria) - Serbian police have arrested Krunoslav Fehir, who is charged in Serbia with war crimes against Serbs under the command of Branimir Glavaš in the summer of 1991 in Osijek, the pro-government tabloid portal Informer reported today.

According to Informer, Fehir himself came to the border crossing with Serbia, after which police officers informed him that he had to go to Belgrade because a warrant had been issued for him for war crimes.

As Informer learns, "war crimes prosecutors have been informed of everything, and with their approval, Fehir will be detained for up to 48 hours."

Key witness in the Glavaš case

Fehir is a former police officer and former member of the BOB (Defenders of Osijek Battalion) and was a key witness in the trial of Branimir Glavaš for war crimes committed during the Homeland War, especially in Osijek in 1991.

Fehir, Jutarnji writes, publicly admitted that as a minor he participated in the torture and murder of Serbian civilians under the command of Branimir Glavaš, including the murder of Čedomir Vučković. He claimed that all the crimes were organized and ordered by Glavaš, whom he called the "alpha and omega" of those events.

After giving testimony about these crimes, he became a protected witness, and his testimonies were crucial in the court proceedings against Glavaš and his associates. Although he was a minor at the time, Fehir expressed remorse and a desire to apologize to the families of the victims.
