(Patria) - Belgrade lawyer Čedomir Stojković was arrested today on the order of the Higher Public Prosecutor's Office (VJT) in Belgrade, Serbian media report.
Stojković is known as a vocal opponent of Serbian policy towards the Russian aggression against Ukraine, as well as its relationship with Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Tanjug agency reported that Stojković was arrested because he is suspected of inciting people through a series of social media posts to confront the authorities with the aim of forcibly changing the constitutional order.
"In his posts, Stojković agitated for the so-called euro-Maidan to be implemented in Serbia - which involves the violent overthrow of the highest state bodies and their representatives, similar to the scenario that occurred in Ukraine in 2014," Tanjug stated.
Stojković is charged with the criminal offense of inciting a violent change of the constitutional order and has been detained for up to 48 hours, the agency added.
In a brief post on the X platform, Stojković stated: "The police are currently taking me in on the order of the VJT".

Stojković is a Belgrade lawyer and political activist, widely known for his extremely sharp and public criticism of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić.
He is also known for his appearances in which he openly accuses the authorities of authoritarianism, abuse of institutions, and connections to the war past of the 1990s.
