Husband of Vjosa Osmani's uncle killed

(Patria) - Kosovo Police have released details about the murder that occurred last night in the yard of a wedding hall in a village near Ferizaj, where a police officer allegedly killed an 89-year-old man. Police emphasized that the suspect was off-duty, reports Gazeta Express.

The report states that the incident occurred around 7:25 PM. It is mentioned that the suspect was taken to the police station.

- The man died after being shot with a firearm. The suspect in this case is an off-duty police officer. The victim's death was confirmed by a medical team at the scene. The suspect in this case surrendered himself to the police station. The prosecutor and the Police Inspectorate have been notified of the case and will take further steps - the report states.

The victim is Sadri Sadriu, who according to media reports is the uncle of Prindon Sadriu, the husband of Vjosa Osmani, the President of Kosovo.

The suspect in the murder is police officer Festim Ramadani. It is suspected that he committed the murder with his service weapon. He has been arrested and detained for 48 hours.

The Kosovo Police Inspectorate also released details about the case. Based on initial information, the PI states that the police officer suspected in this case is believed to have gone to the location and fired a shot at the victim, who died from his injuries.

- The suspect in this case (police officer), after committing the criminal offense, surrendered to the Ferizaj Police Station where he handed over the service weapon suspected of being used in this case. The suspect has been arrested (and suspended) and by decision of the prosecutor, he has been ordered to be detained for 48 hours on suspicion of the criminal offense of 'aggravated murder' under the Criminal Code - the statement reads.

Police said the officer was not at a family celebration, adding that the motives for the murder are still unknown.

- The police officer was not on duty, he was in civilian clothes, in civilian attire and a civilian car, and committed the criminal offense here in front of this bar. The murder was committed with a service weapon. The police officer is F. R, and the victim is S. S... The motives are not yet known. He was not part of a family celebration - it was stated.

The Basic Prosecution in Ferizaj also issued a statement on the case. The prosecution's notice states that the suspect in this case, according to initial information, is a police officer and that, by decision of the state prosecutor, he has been detained for 48 hours on suspicion of the criminal offense of 'Aggravated Murder'.
