Diplomatic Iftar Held in Zagreb on BiH Independence Day

(Patria) - A diplomatic iftar was held in Zagreb last night on the occasion of Bosnia and Herzegovina's Independence Day and the month of Ramadan, organized by the National Coordination of Bosniaks in the Republic of Croatia "Bošnjaci zajedno".

The ceremony was attended by about forty ambassadors and embassy representatives, as well as representatives of Croatian institutions and guests from political, religious, and academic life.

- Bosniaks in the Republic of Croatia are an indigenous national minority. However, we do not forget our roots, our motherland, Bosnia and Herzegovina.

We are pleased that this has become a so-called diplomatic iftar because a very large number of representatives from various embassies respond to it - says Member of Parliament and President of the National Coordination of Bosniaks Armin Hodžić.

The Minister of the Interior and Deputy Prime Minister Davor Božinović assures that Croatia is one of the countries with the highest standards for minority communities.

- I think the representatives of the Bosniak national minority here in Croatia will confirm that, and I am glad that we have gathered here at this diplomatic iftar marking the end of fasting - added Božinović.

- Our national interest is to have Bosnia and Herzegovina on the European path because our security and stability depend on a stable, institutionally functional Bosnia and Herzegovina.

That is why Croatia has strongly supported Bosnia and Herzegovina's European perspective from the very beginning - said the Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlić Radman.
