Motion to vote no-confidence in Prime Minister Vučević submitted to Parliament

(Patria) - A motion to vote no-confidence in the President of the Government of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, signed by 71 MPs, arrived at the Serbian Parliament yesterday.

The stated reasons for no-confidence and dismissal of Vučević are omissions in the performance of duties and the undertaking of measures, as well as the failure to establish responsibility of competent persons, which led to the collapse of Serbia's security system and the deaths of 14 people when the canopy of the entrance to the Railway Station in Novi Sad collapsed on November 1st.

The proposed act states that the Railway Station in Novi Sad was officially opened on July 5th this year, with the works registration submitted only on October 7th, that the competent ministry allowed the building to be put into public use without a usage permit, that there was no expert supervision, and that Vučević was the Mayor of Novi Sad during the realization of the Novi Sad - Subotica railway reconstruction and construction project, including the building's reconstruction.

"Prime Minister Miloš Vučević, in response to the tragic event, has not taken any action, for which he is authorized, to calm the public and prevent such tragic events from recurring," the motion signed by 71 opposition MPs stated.
