Leaders of the region to meet in Skopje on Western Balkans Growth Plan, BiH represented by Minister of Finance and Treasury Srđan Amidžić

(Patria) - Leaders of the Western Balkans will gather in Skopje on January 22 to discuss the Western Balkans Growth Plan adopted by the European Commission with representatives of the European Union and regional organizations.

The meeting will be hosted by the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovačevski, and participation has been announced by the President of Serbia, Aleksandar Vučić, Prime Ministers of Albania, Edi Rama, Montenegro, Milojko Spajić, Kosovo, Aljbin Kurti, and the Minister of Finance and Treasury in the Council of Ministers of BiH, Srđan Amidžić, announced the Government of North Macedonia, given that due to the visit of the European Commission delegation to BiH, Krišto could not travel to North Macedonia.

The meeting will also be attended by the Director-General for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Negotiations at the European Commission, Gert Jan Koopman, and the Assistant Secretary of State of the USA for European and Eurasian Affairs, James O’Brien.

The Deputy Prime Minister of North Macedonia for European Affairs, Bojan Maričić, and the Minister of Finance, Fatmir Besimi, as well as their colleagues from the Western Balkan countries, will also participate.

Regional organizations such as the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC), CEFTA, and the Chamber Investment Forum of the Western Balkan Six, as well as international financial institutions, will participate in the forum on the Western Balkans Growth Plan in Skopje.

The European Commission presented the new Western Balkans Growth Plan in November last year, which includes six billion euros in grants and loans to accelerate social and economic convergence with the European Union.
