In the first 15 days of January, over 100,000 citizens traveled from Kosovo

It has been almost three weeks since Kosovo citizens were allowed visa-free travel in the Schengen zone, and in the first fifteen days of January alone, over 103,000 citizens traveled to European countries from Pristina Airport.

Compared to previous years, the number of passengers traveling to Europe has significantly increased this year.

In the period from January 1 to 15, 103,248 passengers were registered at the "Adem Jashari" International Airport in Pristina, which is 20,531 more passengers than in the same period in 2023.

According to data from this airport, the number of arrivals in Kosovo in the first 15 days of this year was 52,568, which is approximately 2,000 fewer passengers than in the same period last year.

"From January 1 to 18, 2024, we have about 20 percent more flights and 15 percent more passengers than last year. We have approximately 112 more flights and 23,000 passengers. This is a usual trend of increasing passenger numbers at our airport over the years," stated the Pristina airport.

Travel agencies report that the most sought-after destinations are Switzerland, Germany, and Italy.

Indeed, citizens with biometric passports issued in Kosovo have been able to travel visa-free to the Schengen zone since January 1 of this year.
