Bosniak Democratic Movement presented in Podgorica: Šahman proposed as party president

(Patria) - Members of the initiative committee today presented the Bosniak Democratic Movement in Podgorica. It is a political entity in the making, whose formation, as we recall, was announced after the decision of the leadership of the Bosniak Party to participate in the reconstructed Montenegrin government, which also includes parties from the former Democratic Front.

By a unanimous decision of the members, Sead Šahman was proposed as the party president. They stated that they will run independently in the September elections in Gusinje. Regarding their participation in the Podgorica elections, they said they will inform the public later. Speaking about the BS's entry into the reconstructed government, Šahman pointed out that it was the last straw, and that they rebelled against it because they do not want to sell the interests of the Bosniak people for crumbs.

„Until now, a good part of us were active in the Bosniak Party, but some have not been in politics until now,“ Šahman noted.

He emphasized that their desire is for this story to be number one among the Bosniak population.

„The diaspora is here, it helps fellow citizens. A new offer for Bosniaks is needed. We see this state as multi-ethnic and civic. Had we known from the beginning that this would be the path of the BS, our support would probably have been smaller,“ Šahman stated.

The key objections, Šahman stressed, relate to Ibrahimović's leadership of the party.

„Due to nepotism, we have moved away from the ideas and program of the BS. They set off with a Chetnik duke, and good luck to them,“ he added.

Bejto Šahmanović emphasized that they will be opponents of the government of Andrija Mandić.

„We have only one state, and that is Montenegro,“ Šahmanović said.
„They stressed that today's press conference announces the founding of the party, which will follow in the coming days.
