(Patria) - Representatives of the non-governmental organization "Euromost" yesterday measured a temperature of nine degrees below zero in the corridors of the Primary School in Goduša, attended by 73 students, about 30 kilometers from Bijelo Polje.
"After the approval of the school principal, the temperature was measured in the corridors of this school, reaching up to minus nine, while the temperature outside the school reached up to minus fifteen.
Also, during a tour of the classrooms of this school, small, old, unsuitable stoves were found, which did not meet any conditions for use and their use harms children's health, given that students had to stay in those classrooms because the corridors had no heating whatsoever, as well as other rooms used by students," stated Euromost, providing video footage.
They called on the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the Municipality of Bijelo Polje to immediately provide conditions for the 73 students of this school.
They announced that they will also inform international organizations dealing with the protection of children's and students' rights about this case.
Finally, they appealed to the Government of Montenegro, the relevant ministry, the Municipality of Bijelo Polje, as well as all interested parties to contribute and ensure these students have a stay in warm classrooms and corridors.
"The principal of this school, Ćemal Vreva, confirmed that the primary school '21. maj' does not have central heating and that students, as well as teaching staff, are heated by small stoves, and that there is no heating in the corridors, but he also expects that central heating will be provided for them," stated the NGO "Euromost".
