RTL culinary show features song glorifying the so-called Herceg-Bosnia

(Patria) - In the show "Večera za 5" (Dinner for 5), broadcast on RTL television tonight at 5:50 PM, an oversight occurred that caused public reactions, especially in Bosnia and Herzegovina, writes the portal Negatori genocida (Genocide Deniers).

Namely, participants of this popular culinary show performed a song by the controversial Croatian singer Marko Perković Thompson titled "Lijepa li si" (How beautiful you are).

Thompson is known for his ultranationalist views, and the song in question, "Lijepa li si", glorifies, among other things, the para-state entity of the so-called Herceg-Bosnia.

This entity is linked to war crimes committed against the Bosniak population during the war in Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the ideology that shaped it was judged as criminal by the International Court in The Hague. Its political and military leadership was sentenced to a total of 111 years in prison.

The broadcast of such content on RTL, a television station considered an objective and professional media house, shocked many, especially the victims of the war in BiH.

The uncensored celebration of a project that resulted in war crimes is not only an ethical problem but also a legal one.

According to the laws of Bosnia and Herzegovina, glorifying war criminals and criminal ideologies is a punishable offense, and the incident on the RTL program is considered an insult to the victims of the war and their families.

The question is how such content could pass through editorial control, and the Association of Victims and Witnesses of Genocide in Bosnia and Herzegovina expects the editorial staff of RTL to offer an apology to the viewers, especially those from Bosnia and Herzegovina, where the show is also very popular, and to remove the controversial part of the broadcast from their distribution channels.
