One killed, four wounded in bomb explosion in a building in Knin

(Patria) - An explosion occurred in a building in Knin on Saturday evening. One person was killed and four were wounded.

Police reported that at 23:01 they received a report that an explosion of an as-yet undetermined explosive device had occurred in a residential building in Knin, in which one person was killed, while four people sustained injuries and were urgently transported to the hospital. All emergency services were dispatched to the scene.

Emergency medical personnel transported the injured individuals to the General and Veterans Hospital Hrvatski ponos in Knin. The severity of the injuries is currently unknown. Police officers are securing the scene, and an investigation will determine the circumstances of the explosion.

As unofficially reported by the Knin portal Feral News, at the time of the explosion, a gathering involving minors was taking place in the building's basement.

As announced by the police, the explosion occurred at a party attended by young people. A 25-year-old man was killed, while two young men aged 25 and 23, a 21-year-old woman, and a minor sustained serious bodily injuries. An M-75 hand grenade exploded.

Based on traces found at the scene, police officers for explosive ordnance disposal determined that the explosion was caused by an M-75 hand grenade. The investigation established that during the party, the injured 25-year-old brought an M-75 hand grenade from the bedroom of the apartment he uses and handed it to another 25-year-old. Due to unprofessional handling, the hand grenade was unintentionally activated in the hand of the deceased 25-year-old.
