
(Patria) - The Government of Montenegro, in a phone session, decided to declare August 14 a Day of Mourning due to the death of soldier Dejan Božović, who died today when a tanker overturned while providing assistance in extinguishing a fire, RTCG Portal has learned.
Junior Sergeant Dejan Božović (42) from Danilovgrad died, and Sergeant Marko Iković (43) sustained severe injuries while engaged in extinguishing a fire in the Kuči region.
Božović was a member of the 1st Infantry Battalion, married and a father of four children. He had been serving in the army since 2006 and held the position of gunner on a 120mm mortar.
Top Montenegrin state officials have expressed condolences on his death.
