Cyclist knocked down and detained in Belgrade, SNS premises demolished in Novi Sad

(Patria) - New protests are being held tonight in several cities in Serbia.

Large police cordons are separating citizens who have been protesting for months from SNS supporters who have caused numerous disturbances and attacked citizens with various objects in recent days.

The first minor incidents were recorded in Belgrade. Plastic bottles were thrown from the direction of SNS supporters, and one of the citizens on a bicycle was detained.

A police officer knocked him down, held him on the ground, and then detained him.

As reported by an N1 reporter, the situation is very tense, groups are shouting insults at each other, and plastic bottles have been thrown, but without major incidents.

Protests are also being held in Čačak, Vrbas, Novi Sad, Aranđelovac...

"The police are using force, just like last night, they are harassing us citizens who are not guilty. It's a crying shame, how low we have fallen as a people – that the police are threatening us," said one female citizen of Čačak.

They say they will remain on the streets as long as necessary.

"I have lived here for sixty years and was born here, and because of those bandits, I cannot move freely around the city," says an elderly resident of Čačak.

Ljiljana Bralović points out that this is a move by desperate SNS members who want to divert attention from robberies by causing disturbances and enable the introduction of a state of emergency.

"People are more aware that no one will bring us freedom if we don't strive for it ourselves. No struggle is easy. I sincerely hope it will end without human casualties," added Bralović.

In Novi Sad, there have been no incidents so far, but the SNS premises have been demolished. Men with covered faces broke the windows.

In all locations, members of the SNS who hold positions in the City Administration or city enterprises are also present in front of the SNS premises.

In Aranđelovac, people gathered tonight also to support a female student who was detained last night, as well as her parents.
