Trojka's Policy Like a Sketch: Between Dreams and Reality!

By: Muamer Bandić

How did the overly brave, overly honest, overly smart, and the best candidate for mayor of Centar Municipality ever, whom they called Mr. Srđan Mandić during the campaign, become the worst and most undesirable mayor whose recall is sought, a year before regular elections, by the very people who nominated him?

If you want an answer to this question or perhaps to learn this technique of populist brainwashing, then you must attend the historical Trojka course where you will learn the historical technique of bluffing, known in Sarajevo as "selling bricks."

In this course, you can learn from various sellers of fog, pardon, bricks, how to turn an unknown and politically unrealized, but overly egoistic candidate into the bravest, most honest, best mayor through belittling, constant criticism, and undermining of opponents.

In the local elections, the Trojka parties presented joint candidates for mayors of all municipalities in KS to the citizens, and in that historical campaign, their candidates were presented as the bravest, most honest, smartest saviors of Sarajevo, who would come on a white horse to overthrow the existing "regime" and liberate the citizens. Today, less than three years after those historic elections, one Trojka mayor, Ibrahim Hadžibarlić from Stari Grad, has already fallen by the sword of those who nominated him, and two more are in the process of recall.

What the public doesn't know is that the mayor of Novi Sarajevo, Hasan Tanović, almost fell. He survived only because the initiative for his dismissal did not have the support of SBiH. And we did not support it, not because we think Tanović is a good mayor, but because we believe that the dismissal of a mayor a year before regular elections is complete foolishness and an unnecessary expense for the citizens. Especially since the initiative for Tanović's dismissal came from those who nominated that person for the mayoral position (specifically NiP).

That these mayors are not a good solution was evident in the first year of their work, and it would have made sense to replace them then, not now. Such personnel wandering shows that Trojka has no idea what it is doing, has no vision for development, has no clear plans, political principles, goals, and ultimately, has no capable people who know how to manage public affairs.

We learned that lesson through the cantonal coalition, in which they literally did not allow us to realize any of our pre-election programs and projects, and where, at every insistence of ours to act according to the Constitution and laws, they ostracized and bypassed us, thereby operationally stifling the current KS Government. Trojka's political wanderings are the same at the entity and state levels, where they have reduced Bosniaks to a politically irrelevant, cultural decoration of Milet and Dragan's Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Now, with the third attempt to dismiss their own mayors, the situation is the same, if not worse, at the local level. These people simply have no idea what they want or where they are going! Trojka's policy is like a sketch from the comedy series "Blackadder," where when everything has failed, Baldrick says from behind to Rowan Atkinson: "Sir, I have a cunning plan!"

This time, Trojka's, or rather NiP's, cunning plan is to replace their incompetent appointees a year before the regular local elections, assuming that the citizens of Sarajevo have the memory of a goldfish and will forget all the lies, deceptions, inaction, and political chaos that these street vendors of bricks have created. However, our historical and European masters of deception forget one thing: selling bricks only works once. You can only sell it twice to a complete idiot!
