Trojka proved it is a mouse compared to Čović the cat: Corruption is the essence of this government

If anyone until now did not understand why people are fleeing this country, yesterday the representatives in the House of Representatives of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, gathered under the vassal name Trojka, explained everything. The corrupt farce of electing a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH shows the true face of the current, imposed government, which is mounted here solely for the realization of personal interests of individuals.

The election process itself was not a random or isolated example of corruption, but clearly showed us that corruption is the essence of this government. Yesterday, a judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH from the Federation of BiH was not elected. Nor was a judge from the Croatian people elected. Yesterday, a soldier of one party was elected, through a pre-arranged and staged political process in which all legal principles and all values on which a society rests, and all ideals we as a society strive for, were rendered meaningless.

Work, knowledge and expertise were rendered meaningless, while obedience and party discipline were brought to the forefront. So, yesterday Trojka told us that to succeed in this society we do not need to be smart, hardworking or diligent, but all that is needed is to be obedient soldiers of the party leadership!

In doing so, not only was the Constitutional Court of BiH trivialized and rendered meaningless, but the Parliament of the Federation of BiH itself was rendered meaningless, which obviously does not serve the interests of citizens but privileged interest groups within political parties.

To have an independent and impartial Constitutional Court, we must ensure a transparent, impartial and meritocratic process for appointing judges. Judges should be appointed based on expertise, integrity and dedication to constitutional matters, and never based on political suitability.

When the appointment of judges is politicized, especially judges of the Constitutional Court, the entire judicial system becomes a tool for achieving political goals. In the long term, such appointments can have unforeseeable consequences for the judicial system, and ultimately for society as a whole, because judges have long-term mandates and their decisions can shape the legal system for decades.

The statements of the leader of NiP that Bosnia and Herzegovina is in great danger and that there will be a complete blockade of the Constitutional Court if Mr. Vukoja is not elected are absurd and cheap political manipulation with which he tries to hide his personal debt to his "guardian angel". During this corrupt charade, the public was bombarded with a heap of such cheap and shameless lies from the champions of Trojka, and it is truly difficult to decide who lied to us more in this process - Elmedin Konaković, Nermin Nikšić or Edin Forto.

The only sincere words we heard yesterday in the Parliament of the Federation of BiH were those spoken by Damir Nikšić when he said: "Let us fulfill our obligation to HDZ." And that is the only goal of the existence of this false government, fulfilling the wishes of Dragan Čović, which brings the very concept of parliamentary democracy here to complete absurdity.

The citizens of Sarajevo, who gave their votes to the parties of Trojka, could have easily voted directly for HDZ, because in that way they would get rid of the intermediaries who live off their votes and shamelessly lie to them that they have some political principles, ideals or goals, beyond personal settling of accounts.

Trojka has brought us into such a pitiful political situation that at the end of the day Dragan Čović will certainly determine who will be in power tomorrow and what that government will do, just as he determined yesterday who will be the judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH. And let us not delude ourselves that yesterday's election of the judge of the Constitutional Court of BiH is the end of the political farce of this false, imposed and vassal government. This is just the beginning! A beginning that showed us who is the cat and who are the mice in this corrupt partitocratic system.
