
(Patria) - A serious train accident occurred today at the West Station in Zagreb.
Croatian media report that a passenger train hit a 14-year-old boy who died at the scene.
Police, ambulance, and firefighters are at the scene of the accident. Passengers have left the train involved in the accident.
RTL unofficially reports that the boy was crossing the tracks and went under the barrier which was down at the time.
- The train honked for a very long time, much longer than usual. They often honk, but never this much. The train honked continuously - said a reader who works in the immediate vicinity.
Police announced that the child died at 2:34 PM at the West Station at a railway crossing when hit by a train.
They added that an investigation is underway, after which more information should be available.
From the West Station, they announce that train traffic may be delayed as the train will run on a single track.
