Sveçla: All police patrols in Kosovo will be equipped with long guns

(Patria) - Kosovo's Minister of Internal Affairs Xhelal Sveçla stated that all police patrols in Kosovo will be equipped with long guns, RSE reports.

"By purchasing this weapon for all police patrols across Kosovo, the efficiency in the fight against crime is increased.

This enables a safer environment, more peaceful public order, and more security for our police officers," Sveçla wrote on his Facebook.

He did not specify how many rifles were purchased for police patrols, but only thanked Croatia "for close and correct cooperation with the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo".

The budget of the Kosovo Ministry of Internal Affairs for 2024 is the largest in recent years, amounting to over 216 million euros.
